Blacklist of Airline Carriers

The blacklist contains those carriers, to which operation in the EU is prohibited.

Thanks to the effective implementation of high standards of aviation security, Europe can show one of the best records in the world. The European Union, in close cooperation with the security authorities of the EU countries and other countries as well as international aviation organizations, aims at increasing safety standards worldwide. However, the operating standards of some airlines lag behind the necessary, internationally recognized safety level.

To further increase safety, the European Commission decided in close consultation with the aviation safety authorities of all EU countries, that certain air carriers should be prohibited from operating in European airspace, because they are considered unsafe or are not subject to adequate control by the authorities of their country.
